Job Title: Read Coder/Summariser

Responsible To: Admin Team Leader

Hours: Full Time (Part Time considered - GP Practice with 20000 patients)

Salary: Dependant on qualifications and experience

We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and hard working Medical Read Coder/Summariser/Administrator. The role will involve summarising and coding relevant information from medical records and incoming hospital letters onto our computer system. You will need to be well organised, have excellent attention to detail, good IT skills and an understanding of medical terminology.

Essential Requirements:

  • An understanding of Medical Terminology 
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and in a team
  • Excellent IT skills
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • A keen attention to detail
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality in the workplace and ability   to follow data protection policies and guidelines
  • Great communication skills: face to face, on the phone and via email
  • The ability to follow procedures and processes accurately and efficiently

Desirable:

  • Previous experiences of working in a GP Practice or a hospital
  • SystemOne experience
  • Some experience with coding of medical communications

Job Title: Trainee Admin Assistant 

Responsible To: Admin Team Leader

Hours: Full Time (Part Time considered - GP surgery with 20000 patients)

Salary: Minimum Wage

We are looking for a trainee admin assistant to join our team at Ancora Medical Practice. This would suit a person looking to work in the healthcare profession by gaining experience of working with a supportive administration team in a busy GP Practice. The successful candidate will be given training in all office procedures to develop knowledge and skills needed to provide administration support as part of a progressive and forward thinking team providing healthcare to 20000 patients in Scunthorpe and the surrounding areas.

This would ideally suit a person just leaving education, however consideration will be given to all candidates who are looking to return to education or a career change.
