Catchment area
Before filling out a registration form, check you are in our catchment area.
Find out which GPs you can register with on the NHS website.
Register with the surgery
We currently have an open list and welcome requests for registration with the practice from patients living or moving to the practice area. You are registered with the practice rather than with an individual GP and may see any of the doctors. You are able to express a preference of practitioner and whilst the practice will try to comply, it might not always be possible.
You can register by presenting your medical card, completing a form GMS1 available from reception or online. You will be offered a ‘New Registration’ appointment with a healthcare assistant to complete our ‘New Registration Forms’, once completed you will be registered at this practice. If you move out of the area, we regret that you must register with another practice.
Accountable GP
When you register with the surgery, you will be allocated an “accountable GP”. This does not mean they will see you for every appointment, but they have an overall responsibility to ensure you receive appropriate care.
Temporary Patient Registrations
If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.
You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.
To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
